Nifty Thrifty!

I know! I'm supposed to be working. But I am the mistress of distraction! So yesterday I really felt I should pop to my local field sale. I was there before 8am and home by 9.15am. Not too bad then? A.W.O.L. for 90 mins maximum! And look what I found!
Six lovely, lovely pink beakers and a dotty trio...
Such delicate china. Don't you think it just wants to join in with tea and cake?
Oh yes I think so. This picture's for you Vanessa.....
Wonderful advertising leaflet for Lyons cakes... 20p!
A kitschen tureen with this wonderful pink graphic. Just asking to be adapted into an embroidery don't you think?
A 1960's china money box, so many lovely pictures....
A mini gnome with a cute little fox. Some of you will know our passion for gnomes!
And isn't this the prettiest glass ramekin? It's French Arcoroc which is similar to Pyrex but often more delicate in feel (if not function). I didn't buy one of these....
I bought eight! All in their original packaging... for £1!
Did I mention I got eight? EIGHT! How pretty are these!?
Oh look how pretty they are with my new pink beakers too! I know. I'm happy!
So, they have all been carefully camouflaged as items which have 'been there for years'. The glasses are looking very at home in the big china cupboard in the dining room (hubby only goes in there at Christmas and Easter!) ....
and the little ramekins are here... don't they look cosy?
Oh they've been there for years...honest!
Now then - back to work! t.xxx

Do you think you may need therapy for this problem A.W.O.L?
If you find a professional that can help you, please forward their number!!

I know you didn't mean to, but now I feel overwhelmed by technology. I am only just keeping up with all this stuff. Can you explain how all this flickr stuff works if we get a chance at the weekend. My plan was to sell the Beryl's, but bad Mr Bun saw them before they got hidden.

I've got those same glasses in mixed colours and they are gorgeous no wonder they had to come home. I think thrifting feeds creativity so a needed part of the work process.

Oh those ramekins ... they are beautiful and they look so pretty displayed with the rest of your collection.
That's it T... I am on my way back over .. How civilised to have a car boot in the week..something sadly lacking in these parts..
You have made my heart strings twang with that gorgeous little money box..

Sigh! That's a sigh of "what wonderful, gorgeous stuff, why can I not get things like that here?" But of course, you have a great eye for spotting treasure, treasure that has been in your cupboard for many years of course! I must admit, I generally can't get away with slipping things into cupboards, Hugo "notices"! My new found tactic is to divert him with just how cheap and bargain friendly my purchase was, hoping that his love of a bargain will stop him thinking, wait, do we need another .................?!
Thanks for the Victoria Sponge pictures! Wonderful! Actually, in hommage to those delightful pictures, I'm going to search for a recipe for a Victoria Sponge, and make one this weekend!
Love Vanessa xxx (do you mind if i knit)

That has got to be worth skiving off work for! You did really well. We have a big weekend of Vide Greniers coming up, if only our boys are well enough. I'll look out for Arcoroc - you're right about it having a more delicate feel - I like it!

You are so gorgeous! I want to move in with you, you are so positive....clearly my basket was the mongrel basket LOL, I laughed so much when I saw them all there, crushed in sluggy heaps. Nothing compared to what you and the beautiful boy made! My kids became feral during the process and then the result, SUCH a hilarious result for us!

Love the idea of a woolly xmas dec! Love you!
Hey, your hearts are just lovely...will direct you to my next success just to show I am not craft challenged (heee hee).
