September? September!!!!

Well I have no idea what happened to August but I find myself whizzing around getting ready for a little man's birthday which means it must nearly be September! So sorry to have been away - I hadn't intended a break - it just sort of grew!
I finished a lovely commission for flags and then managed, rather foolishly, to fall off of my bike. My left arm has been a nuisance, and as I am left-handed there has been little in the way of productivity. Very frustrating! But there have been new cushions - the ones on the sofa have multiplied...
and on this sofa too.....
on the little wicker chair from my childhood...
and on one of the kitschen chairs....
and this beautiful birch tree cushion in the reading corner.....
and another of my old tapestries finally made up into a cushion...
and why this latest splurge of cushioning? Do you see something odd here?
Does the beautiful boy look a little over-dressed for a sweltering hot August day?
and what's this?
No I didn't bump my head and go do-lally..... well I did bump my head - I had two lovely black eyes for a couple of weeks! But that does not explain all the festivities....
The boy was in his element - very happy to play along!
Editor, Angela happily allowed him to crack crackers securing a place in his heart (crackers are his favourite part of Christmas!)...
Nick the photographer had an exceptional eye for colour and produced some wonderful gemlike images...
and there's Homes Editor, Katie who stoically played 'squares' with the boy despite his rather vague attitude to any rules!
I don't want to spoil any surprises - happily a bit of make-up covered the remains of a black eye and thankfully I was only required for one picture!
The boy is now away at Hotel Granny for his last family holiday of the summer. The nights are already drawing in. It will soon be Autumn, a return to school and I shall be here to chat with you more often.
I hope you are all enjoying the remains of the summer. t.xx

I just did a post about the end of the summer, too! But we have a few days more to enjoy, and I hope you can make the most of them, bad arm and all. It all looks very lovely and very tidy your way - wish it was the same here!

Wondered why I heard Santa's sleigh bells as we were leaving the other evening. Thought it was the Pimms.

Glad you're back in blogland again dear T.

Ooo what is it for? What is it for?
I must say your house looks beautiful. I love the cushions. And bless your little boy for being so good and joining in.

It is my daughter's birthday in mid September so it is that time of trying to fill part bags and find out what she wants.

Wow - amazing pillows! Gets me thinking of ideas! But I'm moving home in two weeks to lodge and then travel for a while so no nesting for me for a long time...doh...looks like you've been having a colourful break! xxx

Wonderful cushions, especially the birch tree one. But so colourful.. isn't it amazing how uplifting the sight of so much colour and fabric can be. Thanks for uplifting a rather wet and windy day!

Hope you're on the mend. Lovely bright photos as always!
'Owch' I know that feeling. I fell down the stairs a couple of weeks ago from the very top to the very bottom!! No black eyes, but some very nasty carpet burns and torn shoulder muscles and 'yep' I was also typing one handed for a good fortnight!!! I blame the hormones!

Lovely pictures and how exciting - Christmas in August. A double celebration.

Hope the recovery is going well??

What an enchanting idea for a summertime birthday party. My son, whom I occasionally refer to as a "beautiful boy" would adore that.

I actually planned to have John Lennon's "Beautiful Boy" playing while I gave birth to my son (he's 9 now). Obviously, I had never given birth when I hatched that plan. When the time came, the cd player never even made it out of the luggage. ;-)

I'm happy to have just discovered your blog. What a wonderful place!
Poor you. The house looks great though. I'm looking forward to Christmas having seen these...

Hi T!
Your beautiful home lends itself to a Christmas photo shoot so well...all homely, nostalgic and cosy...so glad it went well and can't wait to get my copy nearer to the REAL Christmas! So pleased BB had lots of fun too... a great start to his Birthday to come.

Love all the colourful cushions that you managed to produce, despite your injuries! Lets hope you mend soon - do as those docs are telling you! ;-))

Oh, and I remember that dear little wicker chair, as I always wanted one the same! :)

Take care and jingle all the way!

You have remninded me I must get my tapestries turned in to cushions so stupid to leave them in a heap where no one can see them. Ok so which mag is it for - do tell so that we can rush out and buy it! Look like a lot of fun. Oh and a sympathetic OUCH for the bicycle fall.
