Work? Nah!

Time with the little man is so precious and so there has been zip activity in my workroom for two weeks of Half Term and the beautiful boy has been the busy one...
A compass plait corn dolly....
Trips to the woods to make the most of the un-seasonally warm weather. I really really didn't like this climbing frame at High Lodge - of course beautiful boy and all the other daredevil children loved it!
Another glorious day saw a trip to Cockley Cley Iceni Village and Nature Reserve in the heart of Norfolk's Brecks....
The lake was being dredged so the bird-watching wasn't what we had hoped but the landscape is breath-taking, the Brecks at their best...

Another trip into the woods to observe bugs....
all sorts of beasties here!
and a quiet day at one of my favourite stately homes, Oxborough Hall, home to embroidery hangings stitched by Mary Queen of Scots ...
I have happy memories of sitting by this moat and chatting to my Grandma on a summer's day long ago....
The kitchen gardens were settling down for winter...
...and back home, the garden is still a warm and welcoming place to sit out... and it's November this weekend!
No wonder we Brits love to talk about the weather - we never know what to expect!

I love Oxborough too, even used it as a setting for one of my short stories once. It is so romantic a place, and when the daffodils are out, breathtaking....

Is that a special bug skyscraper I can spy? It's wonderful!

I loved reading about your memory of sitting by the moat with your Grandma.
