Come into the garden...

Life has been a bit in fast forward around here. I haven't been able to find a moment to stop by, but I did think of you and so come with me for a walk up the garden path....
Do you see where we're headed? Ooh. Just pause along the way - the Forget-me-nots are so very pretty....
but the real show is over here...
How I love Apple Blossom time....it's the abundance....
the colour... well.... I see pink...
The scent, oh how I wish I could share the scent....
And there's another thing so heart-warming about Apple Blossom....
Can you hear it?
Bzzzzzzz....

Nothing so drunk as a honey bee at Apple Blossom time
But there's something else I love too... it's the promise that comes with all those flowers....
The promise of an autumn harvest....
..... to be enjoyed all summer long...favourite chutneys.....
Glass of juice anyone?

Gosh, how I do love apples, and love seeing and buying them at the NYC Farmers' Greenmarkets in NYC. The best of these greenmarkets is held in Union Square.

The apples there are not gigantic, perhaps chemically enhanced, apples. They are varied types of apples, and each fall when I select my favorites, my mind does travel back to springtime, and I wish that these farmers would post some beautiful pix of their trees in flower.

(You do know that my city New York calls itself the Big Apple? I hold to my preference ... taste wise, for the smaller apple.)

what an amazing garden...I was going to take some pics of our apple tree...its been so late and only just coming into flower...poor old thing its looking worse for wear these days...I give all my apples away, you know what I am like about the kitchen and that necessity called cooking...they dont mix...I would rather be knitting...
