The summer busy-ness continues! We have been to city parks..
and our favourite farm....we have taken friends out for tea and cake (I just love that their favourites are chocolate and vanilla!)...
and the beautiful boy continues to cope with my inability to pass a charity shop; anywhere, anytime. I found Pyrex goodies but the beautiful Pink Daisies dish was a very kind and clever gift from Lottie to match the one I have from my grandma.A pretty cloth for 25p and more knitting needles for my collection.
When does a collection become an obsession?
Amidst all the activity I have found time to stage a one-woman invasion in my own home! The beautiful boy considers the bathroom to be his very own. We use the shower room and any bathing is usually only done in his absence to avoid the inevitable plastic missiles being thrown in to destroy any relaxation. Given his proprietorial attitude, the decor consists mainly of flags and ships ...
... with the odd polka dot.
Lovely though this is, I felt it was time to reclaim some territory! I finally made up curtains from two pieces of beautiful vintage posy fabric found for just £1.50 a few years ago!! One piece is faded, but as the window is south facing I expect this will soon even out!
The beautiful boy is utterly unimpressed! Hubby is just pleased to have some usefulness from my fabric stash!
The lining is jolly red gingham. If the mutiny continues I may have to hang them back to front so at least the neighbours can enjoy the pretty flowers!
Meanwhile, to obsessions. If I tell you I haven't knitted a stitch in over 10 years I think you'll agree that I have long since passed the point of obsession and I am well on the way to having a clinically treatable condition....
... ooh but they look sooooo pretty! I especially love the translucent ones; just perfectly the colour of party jellies!
I hope you're all having a good week. t.x

P.S- Thanks for sharing! And please continue to do it so!
I like the photo of the little feet.
Hello Fancy! Do you think I should start knitting again? Actually they're not that practical - they're bendy, the ends fall off and the bakelite ones don't smell nice when they get warm - so maybe I'll wait another 10 years..... x
welcome Patsy, yes I am Lotties G.A. Although anyone who knows me will immediately see that title as a reflection on Lotties loveliness rather than my gardening abilities! We've been over to visit today and lottie and the beautiful boy had a wonderful creative time in the studio! Such a treat.
Hello PM Glad you could stop by! Hopefully this means you're having a play in blog-land rather than doing chores! You're right about the needles. I am slightly nervous about them - after all, if children used them as weapons one might get snapped.....x
It's a good thing I'm sitting down whilst reading this post.
Your bathroom is making me dizzy with delight. Your colour choices are delicious...curtains, polka dots, gingham and smashing union jack pieces are all perfect.
Your knitting needle obsession is totally understandable, they look so delicious.
Love your pics.

Love those curtains too so if you get fed up of them....
Great blog too I'll be back.
Our bathroom is nearly finished (could still take some time tho!) and strangely my little boy also thinks it's his as it's off his bedroom. And we've chosen a similar colour scheme to you . . more strangeness!
I was outvoted in having flowery curtains (sob) so we've gone for CK boats instead.
Love the knitting needles too. . .useful for poking people if you've given up knitting! hee, hee!
Kristy -copy away - I'm sure I'm not the first to use this scheme!! I'm determined to keep the curtains -At least until they fade away - so you'll have to approach the beautiful boy! He'd pack them up and send them to you tomorrow!! xx
Hello Claire - your profile doesn't link through to your blog so no-one can find you which is a shame! CK boats sound a dream! Great idea for the needles - one prod for every complaint from the menfolk about my pretty curtains!! xx
I think you collection of needles is very colourful!
Kimx
Keep up the collecting, there's nothing wrong with a little obsessive behavior!!
Enjoy the rest of your week,
Niki x
Hello Kim, seems we ladies see the persuasive powers of needles as weapons even better than children! The curtains are staying!
Welcome home Niki! Glad you're back, I missed your blog! Glad you like the new curtains - hardly a makeover but apparently they do "make the whole bathroom flowery!" and that's not meant in a good way! Poor boy! He'll adjust! xxx
Hello TC, thanks for stopping by - you're obviously a lady of great intelligence and discernment! Come again! t.x
See you again soon
