Well I've burned out the belt on my sewing machine. If you're up this way I know a lovely man in Norwich who has it all fixed for me already and I'll happily share his phone number with you because he's so honest and reliable!
But before the machine gave up the ghost I managed to build a bit of stock for the fair!
and hopefully enough to open my new online store before the end of this month too!
I always underestimate the time it takes to do all the bagging and tagging.
Brooch cards are so fiddly, but I love any excuse to use pinking shears. I have never lost the wonder of using scissors that give you crinkly edges like jam tart pastry! And I have my granny's shears so they are the same ones that I first used to make crinkly landscape pictures with her fabric scraps!
All the puppies, dogs and owls were labelled up just like the nice man at Trading Standards told me to. If you are selling anything that might reasonably be interpreted as a toy (even if you don't think it is one) then I really do recommend getting in touch with your local team. Mine were so helpful.
All packed and stacked and ready to be loaded...
a bit undignified but needs must!
And as it was time to drive away the black clouds opened and the stormy wind and rain followed us on our short drive to the coast and stayed there all day!!
More on the fair tomorrow. Lots of scrummy pictures and lovely people for you to meet! But now I must unpack and try to find the house under the accumulated piles of stuff and laundry and homework (sorry Mrs lovely Teacher - we've got a bit behind!) and I suppose I ought to go food shopping..... Back soon! t.xx
