Once again I apologise for my fuzzy images. As much due to my skill as the camera's limitations! I am so excited to see the 'real' pictures. Sadly I will not be able to share them with you as they are not my pictures to copy but I will of course let you know if they make it to a magazine!
Shall we pop upstairs today?
The landing is one of my favourite places to be. We were advised against wasting so much space and to make another bedroom instead...
But I like the way it twists and turns and there's enough floor area to piece a kingsize quilt... who's wasting space?! Of course it means no-one can use the main staircase whilst I'm doing it but hey! Priorities need to be established!
I especially love this sunny view from our bedroom in the mornings.
This little stained glass window was purchased on our honeymoon- well, we couldn't skip a visit to a reclamation yard could we?!
You've seen the family bathroom here.
Lots of favourite seaside bits in this roomAnd of course those flowery curtains!
Here is the boys room. This really is a rare opportunity. The huge quantities of broken bits of Apple Mac, Mecano and car parts moved back in almost the instant the photographer was finished!
I made his curtains using a piece of wonderful vintage fabric showing lots of different veteran cars. I made up four quilt tops using offcuts and remnants red, blue and yellow plus some black ticking...
then sandwiched them together with thermal interlining (I do love a puffy curtain) and black-out liner fabric.
It is now dark enough in there even on the sunniest of mornings to ensure that I trip over some contraption or other in the making! The field room (so called because it enjoys the "View from Here" ), was looking very jolly thanks almost completely to the bargain quilt!
My first upholstery project was in here too for the day..
This is also where there are stacks of books which overflow from bookcases because somehow there are never enough shelves! I'm hoping the photographer was pointing his camera the other way!
In our bedroom the quilt top was finished, although I still have the other side to make up.
Oops, it's looking a bit crumpled here!
Did you notice those mexican paper cuts - I love these. They were a very flimsy tissue paper banner and I framed them to make them last longer! I love paper cuts. For those of you not familiar already with the wonderful world of Rob Ryan take a peek at his blog!
I brought the china flowers out from under glass for the day too.
They look so pretty in this dish I have yet to put them away again - something I shall regret when they need dusting!
That's all for today. Perhaps next time you'd like another peek into the workroom? Then we'll shoot through the dining room and into the kitschen by the end of the week... assuming I get time to come back as the week is looking very full already.. and I had deliberately tried to keep it clear for working. How does that happen? Are there any mum's out there who have any tips for preserving 'me' time?! I'm thinking I'll maybe fill the workroom with snacks and lock the door from the inside... Back soon. t.x

Floss has basically just said what I was about to...you show how gorgeous a house can look. We have spent A LOT of time and money on builders doing big jobs and all the big stuff is done but our homne still doesn't look finished so instead of sitting looking at it and whinging how its not finished i am going to go for it!!
Your sons bedroom is jaw droppingly fabulous!! Totally inspired me to get up in the little boys room and make it look finished x
oozes character.. I would be very happy being locked in any one of your rooms as long as it had the snacks and lots of..

as far as preserving "me" time, I have no idea. I just keep trying to remind myself how much I will miss my "disturbances" when they have left the nest!
